Bertrand Bonello, born in 1968, lives between Paris and Montréal. He came to cinema via music. His first feature film, Something Organic (1998), was presented at the Berlin Festival (Panorama). The Pornographer (2001), his second feature along with Jean-Pierre Léaud, was selected for International Critics’ Week at Cannes and won the FIPRESCI prize. Bertrand Bonello imposes his singular voice and world with Tiresia (2003), in Competition at the Festival de Cannes. In 2005 he returns to Cannes with a short, Cindy, the Doll is Mine. On War (2008), film for which he also composed the soundtrack, was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Locarno Festival. Bertrand Bonello was also a guest at LEFFEST’12, where he also premiered his film Saint Laurent, the opening film at the 2014’s edition.
