Alberto Ruiz de Samaniego, who is participating for the third time at LEFFEST, is a professor of Aesthetics and Art Theory at the University of Vigo. He was the director of the Luis Seoane Foundation in Corunha and responsible for the Spanish pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2007. He curated the exhibitions Andrei Tarkovski: fidelidad a una obsesión, La escultura en Fritz Lang, Cabañas para pensar, Unterwegs: al paso de Walter Benjamin and Georges Perec: Tentativa de inventario. He has also curated exhibitions by Jorge Molder, Manuel Vilariño, Antón Patiño, Xesús Vázquez, Antón Lamazares, Luís Seoane, Roland Topor, Juan Carlos Meana, etc., as well as several group exhibitions. He is the curator of the exhibition Donde estarán las nieves de antano, which has just opened at Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, in León.
He is the co-director of the film Pessoa / Lisboa.
