Born in Lisbon in 1975, Adriana Molder has developed an extensive body of work in drawing and painting, essentially centred on portraits. Exhibiting regularly since 2002, she was awarded the CELPA/Vieira da Silva Revelation Prize in 2003 and the Herbert Zapp Preis für Junge Kunst (Young Artist Prize) in 2007.

Her work is featured in various public and private collections in Portugal and abroad, such as the Berardo Collection, the António Cachola Collection, the EDP Foundation, the Fundació Sorigue in Spain and the Kupferstichkabinett - Staatliche Museen (Prints and Drawings Office of the State Museum) in Berlin, Germany. Her solo exhibitions include the most recent "Serpentina" at the Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica in Porto (2023), "Espelho" at Galeria 111 (2022), "O Meu Rosto Está Aqui No Fogo-Fátuo" at the Winter Garden of the São Luiz Theatre (2021), as well as "The Light on the Heart" at the Art Plural Gallery in Singapore (2014), "A Dama Pé-de-Cabra, Paula Rego e Adriana Molder" at Casa das Histórias-Paula Rego (2012), "We have faces! " at the DSV Kunstkontor in Stuttgart (2009) and "Der Traumdeuter" at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin (2007). Since 2020, she has been directing the exhibition project Galeria da Casa A. Molder.

With literature and cinema as a constant source of inspiration for her work, Adriana Molder often uses the references and methods she discovers there to create paintings and portraits where dark and ghostly atmospheres predominate. As in the cinema, the allusion to dreams, memories and illusions is ubiquitous and reflects the characteristic tone of her work.
