Anita G., a young Jewish woman from Leipzig, moves to West Germany in search of a new life. Caught in the seductive web of capitalist society, she attempts to find her place in an unfamiliar world, ultimately drifting in a way that mirrors the state of the post-war country. Yesterday Girl is based on the short story Anita G. by Alexander Kluge himself, published in his first book, Lebensläufe.
