In a West Philadelphia house, a community of young Black artists and activists forms a socialist collective. The Inheritance interweaves their attempts to reach a political consensus with a documentary reconstruction of the liberation group MOVE, which was bombed by police in 1985. Evoking Jean-Luc Godard's La chinoise, the film finds common ground between politics, humor, and philosophy, within the framework of Black authors and radicals.
