Historical drama recalling the invasion of Otrar, city of the ancient Khwarazm (today an archaeological site in Kazakhstan), by Genghis Khan in the 13th century. An event that marked the expansion of the Mongol Empire, told through color, sepia, and black and white. Amid intrigues and scenes of war, the action is seen through the eyes of a soldier who tries to warn the kingdom’s ruler of the invasion, but fails to prevent a civilizational clash.
