Jacquie leaves her family to travel across France with an itinerant guitarist. When their relationship comes to an end, she heads to the Riviera, where she engages in a series of romantic encounters. Far from conforming to marriage and domestic life, Jacquie claims the freedom to explore desire on her own terms, and assert her independence. The Drifting it’s a feminist rarity from the 1960s.
