Syngué Sabour, in Persian mythology, is a black stone that receives the pains and sorrows from the peregrines. This stone takes the form of a paralyzed elderly man that has a bullet in his body – he’s alone with his younger wife who watches over him. As time goes by, she gains the courage to tell him all of the things she’s been silent about during their past ten years of marriage; she tells him about her suffering, her childhood, her loneliness, her dreams and desires.
