The days of an elderly couple in an Uzbek village are peaceful, spent shearing and milking animals, tending crops, or weaving. They live alone, but their two adult sons insist on giving them modern household appliances, difficult to use, a prelude to their plan to demolish and rebuild the family home against their parents’ wishes. A film that explores the tension between tradition and progress, testing family bonds.
