Siberia

In exchange of his old lifestyle, Clint has moved to the Siberian mountains to manage a small bar where most of his clients do not speak English, his mother tongue. Feeling unsatisfied with his failed attempt to find peace in isolation, he embarks on a sled journey towards a cave. There, Clint finds himself confronting his past dreams and memories in an effort to find meaning in the things he has lived through. An anarchic and mystical odyssey through the pathways of individualism, masculinity and nostalgia, Siberia narrates a man’s journey to the depths of his own psyche. The film marks the sixth collaboration between Abel Ferrara and Willem Dafoe and it is considered to be the filmmaker’s most intriguing and mysterious project to date.
