River of Grass

Before finding in Oregon the landscape that would come to define her cinema, Kelly Reichardt made her debut in the swamps of Florida. Cozy, a dissatisfied housewife, meets Lee in a bar. What begins with a drink ends in flight, as the two come to believe they have committed a murder. Blending dark humour with the story of two unlikely lovers, River of Grass already reveals Reichardt’s interest in American “marginality.”
