Perfect Days

Perfect Days premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Best Actor Award, bestowed for Kōji Yakusho's remarkable performance, the Ecumenical Jury Award.

Wim Wenders

Born in 1945 in Germany, Wim Wenders achieved international acclaim as one of the pioneers of the New German Cinema in the 1970s and is widely recognized as one of the most prominent contemporary German filmmakers. In addition to his remarkable filmography, which includes several award-winning feature films, Wenders is equally renowned for his work as a documentary filmmaker and photographer, as well as for his publications on cinema and collections of prose. Wenders has been honoured with numerous awards at film festivals worldwide, including the Palme d'Or at Cannes for the film Paris, Texas (1984), the Best Director Award at Cannes for Wings of Desire (1987), the Golden Lion at Venice for The State of Things (1982), and the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for The Hotel (2000). Furthermore, his documentaries Buena Vista Social Club (1999), Pina (2011), and The Salt of the Earth (2014) received Oscar nominations. Wim Wenders was a guest at LEFFEST in 2015, during which he was honoured with a retrospective of his work, and in 2019 when he participated in the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Lisbon Story (1994).
