A young bride is left in the care of friends when her husband travels to Transylvania to meet (the vampire) Count Orlok. Plagued by visions and a growing sense of dread, she gradually discovers a malignant force beyond her comprehension. It is one of the most revisited Gothic tales, here through the stylized lens of Robert Eggers, who drew particular inspiration from F.W. Murnau's film.
