Nomadland

This film follows the life of Fern, a woman who has lost everything during the Great Recession and who decides to set off with a van into a modern nomadic journey through the vast American Midwest. Inspired by the book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder, it involves the participation of true nomads Linda May, Charlene Swankie and Bob Wells, who interpret the role of Fern’s mentors and travel companions. Chloé Zhao’s third feature-film has been widely critically acclaimed after premiering at the Venice Film Festival and winning the prestigious Golden Lion award.
