However, she feels increasingly closer to God and is considering embracing the life of a cloistered nun. The news takes the entire family by surprise, creating a chasm and putting everyone to the test. Alauda Ruiz de Azúa uses the fractures in the family to create a profound reflection on spirituality and its different forms.

Alauda Ruiz de Azúa

Alauda Ruiz de Azúa holds a degree in English Philology from the University of Deusto and in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She also graduated in Filmmaking from the ECAM Film School. After writing and directing several short films, which gained national and international recognition, most notably They Say (2011), in 2021 she directed her first feature film, Lullaby, which won more than 30 awards, including three Goyas, becoming Spain's submission for the Oscars. In 2024, she made her television fiction debut with the award-winning miniseries Querer, and, following the same line of dramatic sensitivity, her second feature film, Los domingos, was awarded the Golden Seashell at the San Sebastián Film Festival – it will be screened at LEFFEST.
