After the 1936 Coup d'état, Franco's regime cruelly punished countless women. As a tribute to the victims and to historical truth, based on real letters from imprisoned or exiled women, this dramatized documentary gives voice to Republican women persecuted and silenced. With scenes recreated by acclaimed Spanish actresses, the film restores the memory of those who suffered a double repression: political and gender-based.
