Mizuki is a young piano teacher, whose husband, Yusuke, disappeared three years earlier. When Yusuke reappears at the couple’s apartment, telling her he is dead and his body is at the bottom of the ocean, Mizuki agrees to go with him on a very peculiar journey. Adapted from a novel by Kazumi Yomoto, the film follows a sort of spiritual rewriting of the mitoru – the custom of assisting a dying a man until he passes away.
