Homebound

Chandan and Shoaib, two childhood friends from a small North Indian village, are determined to beat the odds: out of 2,5 million applicants, they each hope to win one of just 3,500 police jobs available, believing that wearing a uniform will provide them with the dignity they desire. But as a year goes by without news of their exam results, economic pressures mount and their friendship strains. Drawing on the conventions of the Bollywood social drama, Homebound is a portrait of a friendship struggling to survive in a precarious and hostile society.
