God’s Comedy

João de Deus, the character created by João César Monteiro in Recollections of the Yellow House, is now the manager and ice-cream maker at “Paraíso do Gelado”, where he has invented the “Paraíso”, the house speciality that delights his customers. He spends his idle hours, usually alone, collecting female pubic hair in a precious album he calls the “Book of Thoughts”, which is also filled with words and quotations. The film is dedicated to the memory of Serge Daney.
