Peter John Farrelly was born in 1956, in Pennsylvania. He is a film director, screenwriter, producer, and novelist, mostly known for his work in the comedy genre.
His younger brother, Bobby Farrelly, was born two years after him, in 1958. Bobby also focused his career in directing, producing and screenwriting for the comedy genre.
Together, the Farrelly brothers, wrote and directed films such as Dumb and Dumber (1994), Theres Something about Mary (1998), and Me,Myself and Irene (2000). After a 20 year run of collaborations that culminated in the sequel Dumb and Dumber To (2014), they embarked on solo careers.
After that Bobby started working on television. He has directed episodes for TV Shows such as Trailer Park Boys (2001-2018), Loudermilk (2017-2020) or The Now (2021).
Peter made his solo directorial debut with the period drama Green Book (2018), which went on to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2019.
