Julio and Tenoch, two teenage boys, meet Luisa, an attractive married woman, and invite her on a road trip to a secluded beach. When she decides to join the boys after her husband confesses his infidelity, the three of them go off into the rural landscapes of Mexico to the rhythm of a carefree escapade. Soon enough, their dynamics shift and twist as sex, love and jealousy come into play. In this erotic road-drama, Cuarón rethinks the American road movie genre so as to illustrate a moment of important political and social changes in Mexico.
