One Way or Another

The only feature film by Cuban director Sara Gómez, a feminist filmmaker associated with the ICAIC, the cultural institute founded in post-revolutionary Cuba, De cierta manera blends documentary realism and fiction, following the relationship between a teacher and a worker in a Havana neighborhood transformed by revolutionary efforts to eradicate marginal communities. A love story that also reflects on the tensions and social change in post-revolutionary Cuba.
