Climates

Isa spends most of his time concentrating on his university career, while his wife, Bahar, tries at all costs to communicate the breakdown of their relationship. Separation is inevitable. Life goes on for Isa until a brief intimate encounter with an old friend brings back memories of Bahar. He decides to track her down in the snowy fields of eastern Turkey, where Bahar is working on a film, to try to reconnect. But the change in climate will have a direct effect on the way they see each other. Starring both the director himself and his wife, Ebru Ceylan, Climates is a haunting portrait of existential solitude in which images, gestures and silence itself communicate more than words.
