Prison of Trees aka The Pelcari Project

Guatemala, 1980, civil war, genocide. A strange hospital deep in the jungle tortures youths under the pretext of curing them of several vices. The patients are mainly Guatemalan, but also American. An information network investigates the hospital and discovers that, in the same neighbourhood, there is another institution holding political prisoners who are used as guinea pigs for savage “in vivo” experiments on the brain. These foreign scientists operate under the full permission of the country’s military regime.
