Bye Bye Tiberias

In her early twenties, Hiam Abbass left Palestine to pursue her dream of becoming an actress in Europe, leaving behind her family. Thirty years later, her filmmaker daughter Lina returns with her to the village, questioning her mother’s choices, her self-imposed exile and the influence the women in their family have had on their lives. A cinematic memoir, tracing lives of displacement and exile for four generations of women in a Palestinian family.
