Aqui Na Terra

Aqui na Terra follows the paths of two couples in crisis – one in the country, the other in the city – offering a perspective on the social, economical and cultural divisions and contrasts within the country. Between the city and the country there is Miguel (Luís Miguel Cintra), a successful economist who, after his father’s death, becomes alienated and loses interest in his work and his wife Isabel (Jessica Weiss), and there is António (Pedro Hestnes) and Cecília (Rita Dias), two young people in love, and the crime that sets them apart. Despite the different universes in which the stories take place, Botelho ends up making them match, with a laudable dominion over the film’s aesthetic atmospheres.
