Dark comedy inspired by the belief that everyone is born with an angel on each shoulder (the right records good deeds, the left records bad) that follows a broke thug returning to his village in Tajikistan to care for his dying mother. Buried in debt and pursued by mafia-like figures, he tries to sell the house and fulfill his mother’s wish: a double gate so her coffin can leave with dignity. Along the way, he learns he has a child.
