Don DeLillo is one of the leading figures of contemporary American literature, having received numerous awards and nominations. Among them are the National Book Award, the PEN/Faulkner Award, the Pulitzer Prize (finalist), the ranking of his novel Underworld among the three best of the last twenty-five years by the New York TImes Book Review, and the National Book Awards Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. His book Cosmopolis and The Body Artist was adapted to the screen by David Cronenberg and Benoît Jacquot, respectively.
