On November 20, LEFFEST organizes a concert by Orquestra Municipal de Sintra - D. Fernando II. With maestro Cesário Costa conducting the concert, the program comprises musical pieces that have frequently been used in cinematic works (such as Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber or the famous Adagietto by Gustav Mahler) as well as themes that have been deliberately composed for the screen (of which works by Ennio Morricone and John Williams feature as some of the greatest examples).
An innovative project looking to program regular musical events of the highest quality in the municipality of Sintra, Orquestra Municipal de
Sintra - D. Fernando II maintains a close relationship with the local
population, valuing its social diversity and cultural richness. Its
mission is to democratize access to music and sustainably contribute to
the cultural development of the area.
