J. M. Coetzee, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature and president of
the jury for this year’s LEFFEST and Ines Branco López, one of the festival’s curators, come together for a special session on Sunday, November 21st, at 10h00 at Cinema Medeia Nimas.

The conversation is centered on the topic “Culture in prisons” and will reflect on the opportunities and challenges faced by inmates concerning the access to culture and means of artistic expression.

J. M. Coetzee will share with us his experience in a literature workshop he organized in a maximum security prison in Buenos Aires. This debate also includes the presentation of the book El silencio que grita, prefaced by the south-african author, that collects poems written by people imprisoned in the same institution.

The event is free – attendees need only to pick up their tickets on the day of the session at Cinema Medeia Nimas.
